A day in Helen, GA

We wrapped up the night back at the cabin. It was the guys turn to cook dinner. Aside from blowing up a baking dish(don't ask) and wanting to boil potato's in foil, I have to say they really did a great job.

What can I say... total sugar rush!

We hit the Hansel and Gretel candy shop after lunch. Talk about a bunch of kids in a candy store!

Rick had the Ruben with sauerkraut and a potato pancake.

We ordered this HUGE pretzel as an appetizer. I swear it's the best pretzel I've had. It was hot and soft and just right.

Cheers!!! Good friends, good food, good times!!!

Time for lunch! This little German restaurant was tucked away in one of the side alley's

Terry and Gerry eye the Hansel and Gretel candy store. I'm sure we'll hit it soon after lunch!!!

This gentle little creature let Rick pet him for a while, he had just finished munching on a bunch of carrots.

Horse drawn carriages take tourist around town. These beautiful creatures were so gentle and beautiful

Helen is filled with beautiful gardens this time of year. Main street has a central area filled with benches and fountains to sit back and take in the scenery.

We took the obligatory picture in front of the wind mil that greets you as soon as you get to town.

Welcome to Alpine Helen...a cute little German themed town in the middle of the mountains.

Time to check the weather and route for the day. Looks like were headed to Helen for the day.

Looks like the bikes made it through the night. They'll get a good washing today to get rid of all the dust from yesterday's fiasco.
