…and the countdown begins.

As with traditional blogs this will begin at the bottom and the most recent post will end up on top :-)

We must have gone through countless quarts of oil for all of the bikes. On a side note anyone notice the price of oil is just ridiculous?! Anyways... at the end of the day all of the used oil is poured into the empty containers to be disposed of responsibly. :-)

Lights, brakes, fluids, oil change, tires and cables just to name a few are checked to make sure everything is in working order. Experience has taught us that an ounce of prevention now saves us hours of delays on the road. Not to mention that it becomes a safety factor for everyone in the group.
Meet Gil, our head monkey wrencher...Gil has just about every tool under the sun for working on Harley's and metric bikes. You name it, he's got it and it's organized in a dedicated storage cabinet, alphabetized by function and sorted by size. Okay... perhaps I'm exaggerating, but not by much. :-)

In preparation for the trip all of the bikes are checked over and each have a round of preventive maintenance. Gil's garage is maintenance central.

In about 19 days we'll head North to Blue Ridge Georgia for 10 days of riding through some of the best mountain roads in the South. Staying in Blue Ridge will strategically place us in the best area to select a different direction each day and wander through four different states: Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. We’ve been planning this trip from the day we got back from last year’s trip. This time around we’ll be accompanied by a group of our closest biker friends. There will be about 11 of us in total. The plan is to split the ride North up in two days. Miami to Valdosta on the first day and Valdosta to Blue Ridge on the second day.
